I purchased the mid range Canon Optura 200MC less than a year ago. This was my first video camera and I bought it based on it's specs, specifically the video quality. A few months ago it started complaining to "REMOVE CASSETTE". Now with every tape I put in it I get the "REMOVE CASSETTE" message. To make matters worse, when I eject the cassette the tape is still in the machine.

So off to Canon it goes. My only concern is that I couldn't find the receipt that shipped with it so I put in a copy of the email receipt. I keep every receipt I get but somehow I disposed with this one. I've also read that other owners of recent Canon cameras are having the same problem, so Canon should fix it regardless.

[Update:] $16.00 for shipping with $1000 worth of insurance. I think I would rather they loose it and get the cash back.
